On Wednesday last week, JDI France was fortunate enough to attend a Roundtable discussion at the New Zealand Embassy. The discussion was hosted by Deputy Ambassador Charles Kingston and Second Secretary Liese Galvin - with a special visit from Ambassador Jane Coombs.
The talk was centred around New Zealand and Frances’ efforts in the Christchurch call to action following the March 15th attacks. This summit brought countries and tech companies together for the first time in a pledge to eliminate terrorist and extremist content on the internet.
We also discussed New Zealand’s climate change efforts, the impact of global warming from a Pacific perspective and the possibility of further Indo-Pacific partnerships.
A key takeaway from this talk was New Zealand’s ability to implement change both in their own region and within the ever-developing global community.
Many thanks to all those involved - Charles Kingston, Liese Galvin, Thomas Kontereski for their time and expertise and a special thank you to Sarah Pelage for moderating.
